The 2008 Teck Cominco Development Team, consists of one male and two females: Connor Hammond of London, Ont, Edmonton's Paula Findlay and Sarah-Anne Brault of Winnipeg.
Connor Hammond
Connor Hammond is one of two Canadian juniors attending the World Championships in Vancouver. He had a strong season in 2007, winning gold in two of his races: the Junior Nationals in Brampton, Ontario and the Vancouver Junior Series race.
Connor had one other podium finish in 2007, placing second at the Duathlon National Championship. He was also the second Canadian to finish at the Longmont USA Championships.
Connor was the top Canadian at the Brazil Fast Triathlon, finishing fifth overall and helping his team to an impressive second place finish.
Paula Findlay
The 2006 Junior National Development series champion, Paula Findlay placed third in the 3000m of the 2007 Canadian Junior Track and Field Championships, achieving a personal best of 9:45. She also recorded a personal best in the 800m Freestyle swim of 9:15.
Also in 2007, Paula claimed the title at the 2007 PATCO Triathlon Championships. In addition, she placed second at the Junior National Championships, moving up one spot from 2006, and finished sixth at the World Junior Triathlon Championships, improving from a seventh-place finished the previous year.
Sarah-Anne Brault
As the 2007 National Junior Series Overall winner, Sarah-Anne Brault has proven herself time and time again. She was the first junior to complete the 2007 Junior Nationals and the 2007 Gatineau Junior Series race, placing second overall in both races. She also had a gold medal finish in the USA Junior Nationals. Sarah-Anne also picked up the silver medal in the 3000m at the 2007 Track and Field Junior Nationals, and finished in 11th place at the PATCO junior Championships in Edmonton. At the 2007 World Junior Championships, she finished 29th, an improvement of six places from 2006.
In 2006, Sarah-Anne was the Duathlon World Championships bronze medal winner. She also picked up silver medals at the Junior Nationals and the Duathlon Junior Nationals.
