Triathlon Canada’s National Team in 2010, a major component of the High Performance Program, is sponsored by Teck and is comprised of three males and four females. Simon Whitfield, Kyle Jones, and Brent McMahon make up the Men’s team. The Women’s Team consists of Lauren Campbell, Kathy Tremblay, Kirsten Sweetland and Paula Findlay. Building a system that recruits, identifies and nurtures world class talent is the ultimate goal for Triathlon Canada. All decisions by Triathlon Canada will be geared toward fulfilling this strategy and meeting our long term vision, ensuring talented athletes have the necessary high performance environment to become Olympic and/or World Champions.
The primary objective of the High Performance Program is to provide an administrative, performance, and financial support structure to assist these outstanding athletes in their quest to achieve optimal results at the Olympic Games, Pan American Games, Commonwealth Games, ITU World Championships and World Cup events throughout the world. Triathlon Canada and its High Performance Programs are committed to excellence at all the Major Games across the continent.
