Tri This - Talent Identification

Program Stages

1. Fill out the Triathlon Canada Tri This Application Form

2. A Triathlon Canada representative will evaluate the application and communicate back to you within 7 working days.

3. Highly regarded Candidates will have a phone interview with a Triathlon Canada representative. Follow up in-person interviews or observations of training sessions may be required after the initial interview.

4. Triathlon Canada may require potential Candidates to have an injury assessment with an approved medical professional. The purpose of the assessment is to provide the athlete and Triathlon Canada with an accurate evaluation of the athlete’s capacity to train and to avoid injuries that will reduce their chances of being able to train properly. The assessment will occur as close as possible to the Candidates home base.

5. If accepted into the program, the final stage of the process is for the Candidate to meet with small group of Triathlon Canada senior staff to discuss a strategy the athlete and the organization can agree will lead to a successful international triathlon career. This will include, but it is not limited to, training environment/location, training camps, equipment needs, race schedule, and coaching support. Both the athlete and Triathlon Canada must sign a contract where both parties agree to the terms of reference to help the candidate become an elite level triathlete in 12-24 months.
