The Athlete Assistance Program (AAP) is aimed at enhancing the Canadian high performance sport system. The AAP assists international caliber athletes with their training and competition needs, through the provision of a living and training allowance and, where applicable, tuition expenses.
The AAP is also intended to assist carded athletes in dealing with the increasing demands of high performance sport and to enhance their personal and career development both during, and following, their athletic careers. All applications for assistance on behalf of athletes under Sport Canada's Athlete Assistance Program must be submitted on an annual basis to Sport Canada by Triathlon Canada.
Note: when looking at the criteria in 2007 it is based on the athletes receiving funding in 2008.

Canada’s top duathlon athletes racked up a total of five medals at the World Duathlon Age Group Championships 2010 in Edinburgh, Scotland on Saturday.
