BACKGROUND:
With a passion for swimming and missing outdoor sports, Kathy was determined to find the ideal sport that would suit her needs. Luckily, her father had heard of a discipline, which intrigued her because of the diversity of the three sports. The attraction was immediate: she could swim, bike and run until her heart’s content in a summer-like setting where she could fill her lungs with fresh air!

Kathy has the same passion for triathlon 11 years later and continues to pursue excellence in the sport on Canada’s national squad.

Kathy credits her family to being the core that determines the balance between her sporting and personal life. Kathy’s parents were instrumental in helping her shift from swimming to triathlon with their encouragement and support, while her sister – Melanie – is her source of inspiration.

With her boyfriend, and coach David-James Taché guiding her along the way to several top-five finishes on the World Cup, Kathy reached her Olympic dream in 2008 while competing for Canada in Beijing.

When not doing triathlon, Kathy enjoys public speaking, and everything relating to food. She is also a graduate of Université of Montreal, and HEC Montreal.
